About McEwen

- McEwen is named after former Deputy Prime Minister Sir John Edward McEwen, who served as caretaker PM for three weeks in 1967-1968.
- McEwen covers 14,567 kilometres from Puckapunyal in the north to Warburton in the south and from Macedon in the west across to Eildon.
- Industries include cattle grazing, market gardening, vineyards, sawmills, textiles, dairying and various small businesses and tourism.
- McEwen was declared an electorate in 1984. The 2002 redistribution removed areas including Nagambie, Craigieburn and Mansfield.
- McEwen includes parts of the Victorian Legislative Assembly electorates of Evelyn, Seymour, Macedon Ranges and Yan Yean.
- It also includes local government municipalities of Nillumbik, Macedon Ranges, Yarra Ranges, Mitchell, Whittlesea and Murrindindi.
- Towns include Alexandra, Broadford, Diamond Creek, Eildon, Gisborne, Healesville, Hurstbridge, Kilmore, Lancefield, Macedon, Marysville, Seymour, Wallan, Mt Macedon, Warburton, Whittlesea, Woodend, Woori Yallock, Yarra Glen and Yea.
